Pony days are happy days ……… and an opportunity for our riders to develop partnerships with their ponies & learn new skills, in a fun environment.
Over the summer, we’ve held several busy pony days. After grooming and tacking up their ponies, our riders enjoyed a 1 km or 2km ride around the field headlands to the lake and up the hill back to the yard.
Other activities included tack cleaning, learning about feeding and condition scoring, a “Field Safari” to discover about pasture care, including poo picking- a highlight for some of our riders – and leading their ponies to the paddocks at the end of the day.
The opportunity to simply hug a pony or just spend time with them is very special…. made possible by the commitment & support of our dedicated volunteer team.
